The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for submittal review, expediting, coordination, problem resolution (RFI’s), document control and be the touchpoint between multiple parties including Subcontractors, Owners and other key members of the construction team.
Essential Functions of an Assistant Project Manager in Dallas:
- Contribute to overseeing all aspects of the assigned project(s) from initiation through completion.
- Strengthen project management through effective communication and coordination with both internal team members and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the execution of project scope aligns with the contract and proactively prevent unplanned or unbudgeted work.
- Attend all necessary project meetings as directed by the Project Manager.
- Maintain and update all construction documents (Submittals, RFI’s, change orders, drawings, specifications, etc.) and generate as-built documents.
- Assist in Quality Control/Quality Assurance initiatives.
- Support job cost management activities.
- Compile and distribute meeting minutes.
- Oversee the RFI process and Submittal process.
- Organize documentation for material testing and monitor the resolution of all non-conformance issues to closure.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed, in accordance with Project Manager directives.
Requirements:
Required Education and Experience of an Assistant Project Manager in Dallas:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction science, or a related field is a prerequisite.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in construction as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager.
- OSHA 30 Hour Certification is mandatory.
- Demonstrated knowledge across all construction facets, including technology, equipment, methods, subcontractor agreements, estimating, schedules, and safety.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are crucial.
- Excellent time management skills with acute attention to detail.
- Proficient in project management software such as Procore, CMiC, or equivalent.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications – Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam.
- Willingness to travel and work at various locations, coupled with flexibility.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse, multi-disciplined groups.
- Experience in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Laboratory, MEP, and Commercial projects is considered an advantage.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Project Types: Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Laboratory, MEP and Commercial Experience is a plus
